David Matthew Macfadyen was born on the 17th of October 1974 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, to a mother who was of part-Welsh and part-Scottish heritage, and a father who was of part-Welsh and part-Scottish ancestry. He is perhaps best known for playing Tom Quinn in the television series “MI-5” (2002-2011), portraying Mr. Darcy in the film “Pride & Prejudice” (2005), and as Detective Inspector Edmund Reid in the television series “Ripper Street” (2002-2011).
